Fire Alarm Project Manager
Location: South region (field-based; ideally suits someone based around Cambridge, Peterborough or Essex)
Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: £50,000–£55,000 + company car, 25 days' holiday + bank holidays
The Company: An established UK fire safety specialist delivering fire alarm, detection and fire protection services to commercial clients across the country. Part of a wider fire and security group, with a steady pipeline of project work and a growing regional team.
The Role: You'll run a portfolio of fire alarm projects across the South region, from small works worth a few thousand pounds up to schemes of £500,000+. You'll manage several projects at once and own each one's budget, costs and client relationship from start to handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple fire alarm and detection projects at once, from design handover through installation, commissioning and client handover
- Own project P&L: budgets, cost control, valuations and margin
- Lead client meetings, progress reporting and variations
- Plan and coordinate engineers and subcontractors across the region
- Make sure installations meet BS 5839 and site health and safety requirements
- Work with the design and estimating team on scope, programme and costs
Requirements
- 3+ years' project management experience in fire alarm, fire and security or electrical installation
- A technical background as an engineer (installation, commissioning or service)
- Previous P&L responsibility on projects
- Confident in client meetings, budgeting and cost reporting
- Experience running several projects at once, from a few thousand pounds to £500,000+
- Full UK driving licence and happy to travel across the South region; ideally based around Cambridge, Peterborough or Essex
- Working knowledge of BS 5839; SMSTS or FIA qualifications would be an advantage
