Job Description

Monitoring Manager

Chippenham, Wiltshire
£35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits
Full-Time | Permanent | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Flexibility will be required to support a 24/7 operation and provide leadership to shift-based teams when required.

The Opportunity

We're recruiting on behalf of a growing organisation seeking an experienced Monitoring Manager to lead and develop a team of approximately 12 employees within a busy operational environment.

This role is ideally suited to a strong people manager with experience leading teams, driving performance, and delivering high levels of customer service. Whilst experience within a monitoring centre, control room, alarm receiving centre, or security environment would be highly advantageous, our client is open to candidates from a range of operational management backgrounds.

As Monitoring Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the monitoring function, ensuring service standards are maintained while developing and supporting your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 12 monitoring operatives within a 24/7 environment.
  • Oversee the effective management of alarm activations, CCTV monitoring, incident logging, escalation, and reporting processes.
  • Drive team performance through coaching, performance management, and regular reviews.
  • Maintain compliance with NSI standards, company procedures, and operational best practice.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, workflows, and the use of technology to enhance service delivery.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, internal departments, and emergency services where required.
  • Support initiatives to reduce false alarm rates through operational reviews, customer engagement, and continuous improvement activities.

About You

Essential

  • Proven experience managing and developing teams within an operational or service-led environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • A customer-focused approach and commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.

Desirable

  • Experience within a monitoring centre, control room, ARC, SOC, or security operations environment.
  • Knowledge of CCTV monitoring, alarm handling, or electronic security services.
  • Understanding of NSI standards and industry regulations.
  • Experience managing teams operating within a 24/7 shift-based environment.

What's on Offer

  • Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • On-site parking.
  • Employee referral programme.
  • Genuine opportunities for career progression within a growing business.
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment.
