The Opportunity
We're recruiting on behalf of a growing organisation seeking an experienced Monitoring Manager to lead and develop a team of approximately 12 employees within a busy operational environment.
This role is ideally suited to a strong people manager with experience leading teams, driving performance, and delivering high levels of customer service. Whilst experience within a monitoring centre, control room, alarm receiving centre, or security environment would be highly advantageous, our client is open to candidates from a range of operational management backgrounds.
As Monitoring Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the monitoring function, ensuring service standards are maintained while developing and supporting your team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of 12 monitoring operatives within a 24/7 environment.
- Oversee the effective management of alarm activations, CCTV monitoring, incident logging, escalation, and reporting processes.
- Drive team performance through coaching, performance management, and regular reviews.
- Maintain compliance with NSI standards, company procedures, and operational best practice.
- Identify and implement improvements to processes, workflows, and the use of technology to enhance service delivery.
- Build strong relationships with clients, internal departments, and emergency services where required.
- Support initiatives to reduce false alarm rates through operational reviews, customer engagement, and continuous improvement activities.
About You
Essential
- Proven experience managing and developing teams within an operational or service-led environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
Desirable
- Experience within a monitoring centre, control room, ARC, SOC, or security operations environment.
- Knowledge of CCTV monitoring, alarm handling, or electronic security services.
- Understanding of NSI standards and industry regulations.
- Experience managing teams operating within a 24/7 shift-based environment.
